Have you found yourself going to the same restaurants over and over again? I know, I know… We’re all busy with no time to look for something new so we resort to our normal eat spots. But what if I were to tell you about a tempting treat… right in the heart of Wilmington? Planted between Harris Teeter and Stein Mart in the Hanover center is where you’ll find it! Even on a rainy day around lunchtime Temptations Everyday Gourmet was packed. I knew then I had been missing out on something special. They offer a unique variety of salads, wraps, sandwiches, quiches, and soups with an alluring healthy twist.
Temptations is a unique spot; in the back is a little shop where you can purchase gift baskets, wine, desserts, and sides from the restaurant in bulk. It was refreshing to see a different take on your everyday restaurant and made me excited for my first time. For gluten free diners you’ll be happy to hear Temptations caters to you and can make many dishes without gluten and also uses local products whenever they can.
You could tell the second you walked in that Temptations is THE lunch spot; I felt lucky to have even found a table! After carefully scanning the menu I was finally able to choose The Horsey Beef. It’s a specialty flatbread with fresh roast beef, aged white cheddar cheese, fresh romaine lettuce, sweet caramelized onions and mouth-watering horseradish mustard. For me, a dish has to have an array of textures to really make it memorable and Temptations nailed it. The combination of flavors from the horseradish sauce and textures from the lettuce and onions makes this a galloping good meal. The Caesar salad was crisp, fresh, and coated in the perfect amount of thick, yummy dressing.
With 17 different salads and 14 sandwich and wrap selections you are sure to see some delectable dishes that make your mouth water! At 9.95 for a full sandwich or 7.25 for half, the Horsey Beef (or any other sandwich) includes your choice of the following: fruit salad, pasta salad, potato salad, Greek salad, Caesar salad, garden salad, French onion soup, soup of the day or seafood bisque (add $1). I know I’ve only been once but I will definitely be back again. I must say I also had my eye on the pimento cheese flatbread and have been dreaming about how it might taste ever since… But what about you? Have you been to Temptations Everyday Gourmet? What did you get? Did you love it? Let me know because I’d love to hear what tempted you.

Our Cookbooks rock!
What you're saying..
I work second shift and I prepare my "lunch" from Cheap. Fast. Good! each morning to take in. Everyone comments on how fantastic the meals I bring in smell. I have to hide in the corner so I don't get accosted! I have yet to prepare one of the dishes that I do not like and I don't have to spend a fortune on healthy, fantastic-tasting meals.
